Monthly Newsletter

april 2026

Good evening, Rotary Members and Friends,

As we wrap up the Easter weekend, I'm reminded that the spirit of Rotary — serving others, lifting our communities, and showing up for one another — is very much in the same spirit as this season of renewal and hope. Wishing all of you and your families a peaceful and joyful Easter.

A quick note — please keep our friend Dale in your thoughts and send her well wishes for a speedy recovery. We miss her presence and look forward to seeing her back with us soon!

Last week, on April Fools' Day no less, District Governor Andy Vanhook joined us for a fellowship meeting. We gathered outside in our pavilion, and while April weather can be unpredictable, the day couldn't have been more beautiful. It was a wonderful gathering — thank you to everyone who made it out. A special highlight: Andy presented Gerald with a 100% Foundation Giving Club Award. What a well-deserved recognition for our club!

April is always a full month, and this one is no exception. Extra meetings, events, and activities are baked into the calendar, so please attend what you can — but above all, take care of yourselves.

Student of the Month — Final Four!

Over the past two months, we've had the privilege of hearing from Clarke County High School students about who they are and what they're doing for our community. It has been a true honor. As I've worked through scholarship applications, it's only reinforced just how remarkable the youth of Clarke County really are.

This Wednesday, we'll celebrate our final four outstanding students. Parents are warmly invited to join us, and we'll be providing pizza and salad — no need to bring your own lunch that day. Please make every effort to attend and help us honor these incredible young people:

  • Bray Daniels
  • Sarah Stephens
  • Kayla Calder
  • Ciara Smith

Rotary District Conference

April 23–26

This year’s District Conference is more than a meeting—it’s an opportunity to reconnect with fellow Rotarians, get inspired, and celebrate the incredible work happening across our district. From engaging breakout sessions and meaningful fellowship to inspiring keynote speakers Ramesh Ferris and David Beasley, and a Rotary Foundation progressive dinner at the Explore More Children’s Museum, there truly is something for everyone.
